YOUTH MINISTRY
Our purpose is to equip youth to minister in all aspects of their lives by growing in their relationship with Christ and by helping them learn about Him through His Word, fellowship, prayer, service, and worship.
EDUCATION, WORSHIP, FELLOWSHIP
The St. Christopher Youth Ministry welcomes 6th - 12th Graders.
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:1-2)
Rooted Ministry: Knowing Jesus
Youth Formation Sundays Beginning September 8, 2024
9:15am-10:05am, Youth Classroom 6
It’s often been said that one cannot love what they do not know. And with Jesus, the more you get to know him, the more you’ll grow to love him. Through the Knowing Jesus curriculum, students come to know Jesus and grow in their love for him. This curriculum seeks not only to transform their minds but their hearts as well. In this study, students will get to know Jesus as their friend, their shepherd, their savior, and healer, just to name a few. They will learn more about who Jesus is, what he has done, and what that means for them today.
September 8, Lesson 1: Jesus, Our Pre-Existent Christ (Jn 1:1-18)
Jesus always was, is, and forever will be our Christ. He was there in the beginning, and all of creation was made through Him.
September 15, Lesson 2: Jesus, Our Forgiver (Mk 2:1-12)
Jesus is the Son of Man and the power of God. He displayed His power by defeating sin and its power. Even though sin separates us from God, Jesus has healed that separation through the forgiveness of our sins.
September 22, Lesson 3: Jesus, the Authenticator of Scripture (Mk 2:23-28)
Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, and He both fulfilled God’s Word and authenticates the Word.
September 29, Lesson 4: Jesus, Our High Priest (Heb 4:14-16)
Jesus is both the sacrifice and the intercessor for our sins. He is eternally interceding as our high priest before God and, now, all who have faith in Jesus can draw near to God with courage.
October 6, Lesson 5: Jesus, the Judge of Man (Jn 5:19-29)
Jesus can do nothing apart from God because they are one. Jesus is both our judge and the one who has taken our judgment upon Himself.
October 13, Lesson 6: Jesus, God’s True Son (Mt 2:13-23)
Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. He is God’s true Son and our brother; and in Jesus, we are made into a new family.
October 20, Lesson 7: Jesus, Our Innocent Sacrifice (Mk 14:53-65)
Jesus is the only sinless one; He is our innocent sacrifice. In Jesus, we have righteousness and life.
October 27, Lesson 8: Jesus, Our Risen Lord (Jn 20:11-23)
By His resurrection, Jesus defeated death and sent His Spirit to indwell believers. And one day, all who are in Jesus will also rise to eternal life.
November 3, Lesson 9: Jesus, the Upholder of the Law (Mt 5)
The law shows us our need for Jesus and, by His sacrifice, the righteous requirement of the law is fully met in Jesus. Now, all who are in Jesus have been made right under the law.
November 10, Lesson 10: Jesus, Our Healer (Lk 8:26-39)
Jesus is our healer. He has all power and authority in heaven and on earth, and He cares for both our bodies and our souls.
