Parish Library Information

The St. Christopher Library provides a collection of literary resources for the spiritual and moral growth of all members. The collection includes both fiction and non-fiction organized into sections for adults, youth and preteens. The types of media include books, videos (VHS), cassettes, CDs, and DVDs. Group study materials are also archived by the library.

The library is located in the educational wing of the church, off the glass hallway and next to Buckner Hall.

The doors to the library are never locked. You may use the library anytime you are in the church. Use of the library by patrons takes priority over any other activity going on in the library. Sometimes the library is used for meetings when space is not available elsewhere. If you need to use the library when a meeting is in progress, please be as quiet as possible.

All patrons of the library are required to be registered. Family registration forms are provided in the library. There is a place for the completed form on the registration display.

There are two checkout procedures, one for cataloged (processed) items and one for uncataloged (new) items. Processed items will have a card in a jacket inside the front or rear cover of the item. Write your name, phone number and the current date (including the year) on the card found with the item. Place the card in the “Checkout Box”. New items (no card) may be checked out by filling in the required information on the “New Item Checkout Sheet”. The “Checkout Box” and the “New Item Checkout Sheet” are located on a small stand near the librarian’s desk.

Children are welcome in the library. We have a fine collection of books, fiction and non-fiction, and videos for preteens and preschoolers. When children use the library, parents are responsible for seeing that children understand the checkout procedures and etiquette appropriate for a library.

ALL ITEMS TAKEN FROM THE LIBRARY
